Ty Lawson has not played since leaving Fujian Sturgeons in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Lawson was set to sign for Kolossos Rodou in the Greek Basket League (GBL) last season, but Lawson was not allowed to leave China for five months, preventing the move.

“I was trying to come to Kolossos but China would not let me out of the country for four or five months, I have been trying the visa, work visas, it was a long process. I wanted to come and play.”

Ty Lawson has not played in Europe since the 2011 NBA Lockout, after signing for BC Zalgiris in Lithuania. During that time, Lawson played seven games in the Euroleague.

Lawson was a member of the 2009 national championship team and in many people’s opinions, one of the best point guards to come out of the University of North Carolina. Lawson went on to play 587 NBA games from 2009 to 2017.

Lawson is known as one of the fastest players to play the game and at 33 years old, Lawson is not slowing down.
