Sterling Manley left the University of North Carolina last season and has been putting the work in behind the scenes and it has paid off. Manley has signed his first professional contract in China, one of the top overseas leagues in the world.
Manley signed for the Chicago Bulls Summer League Team, while putting in some good performances in Pro-AMS across America, but he was without a team for quite some time.
It was worth the wait with Manley signing for Sichuan Blue Whales, the former team of fellow Tar Heel, Tyler Hansbrough.
Sterling Manley’s time at UNC was always dampened by injuries. Manley only played for 59 games for the Tar Heels and scored a total of 265 points and recorded 187 rebounds.
Manley at 7 feet and 265 lbs, his size caused issues when he was on the court and will be a force to be reckoned with in the professional game.
Tar Heel International are excited to be covering Sterling Manley’s first experience in overseas basketball.
